åÊThe Admiral Hipper was launched on February 6, 1937 and served on April 29, 1939. She is the first ship of the Hippel class. She participated in the invasion of Norway and then attacked the cargo ship on the Atlantic Ocean based on the port of Brest. On February 28, 1941, she returned to Kiel Port via the Danish Strait. Modifications are made there to increase the amount of fuel carried to increase its endurance. In the New Year of 1942, she participated in an attack on the JW-51B fleet, sinking a minesweeper and a destroyer. But the attack was not successful, and the Hippel was also hit. She then returned to Wilhelmshaven and retired for active repairs. It was not until January 1945 that the repair work was not completed, and the Hippel was rushed to serve again, carrying out the task of transporting refugees and wounded soldiers from the Eastern Front. The Hippel sank in Port Kiel on March 2, 1945.
