- The model is based on the appearance of the ship at the time of the Battle of Leyte in October 1944.
- The aft mast is equipped with a No. 13 electric probe, the final configuration for the Musashi.
- The porthole windows, a characteristic of the later stages of the war, are molded convex to show them closed.
- The wooden deck is represented by convex mold.
- The parts including the hull and bottom plate are molded in gray color.
- The bridge and chimney are laminated on both sides.
- The main gun has the barrel and canvas in one piece, and the elevation angle is fixed at the mooring position.
- The secondary gun is reduced to two guns, and the turret and gun barrel are integrated parts.
- The 25mm triple machine gun (without shield) comes with both conventional molded parts and precision molded parts for 2018, making it possible to choose.
- The 25mm 3-gun with shield has a choice of two barrel elevation angles: high elevation or fixed position.
- Two types of water reconnaissance planes are included: a Type Zero observation plane and a Type Zero (three-seater) water reconnaissance plane.
- The color of the aircraft is gray.
- Included are the sunburst and the identification band (yellow band) of the ship's aircraft, including the sunburst without the white border of the later stages of World War II.
- Decals include draft markings, the chrysanthemum crest on the bow, and the ship's name on the stern (in gold or filled-in warship colors).
- Decals are included for easy reproduction of the walking strip on the aft flight deck.
