Metal Color is an innovative range of water-based metallic paints formulated with aluminum pigments. The Metal Color range offers a wide array of shades to mimic the metallic finish of aircraft of any type and era. With exceptional brilliance and extraordinary reflectivity, it allows modelers to complete all painting processes without the need for enamels or lacquers. It can be applied directly to the model with an airbrush, or diluted with our Airbrush Thinner or Flow Improver. Metal Color dries very quickly, preserving even the smallest details of the model and forming a homogeneous, self-leveling film of extraordinary resistance just a few hours after application. Metal Color can be tinted directly in the airbrush cup using colors from the Model Air or Game Air ranges. It can also be applied with a brush. The recommended compressor settings for our paints are around 15-20 PSI or 0.5-1 kg. For model aircraft fuselages and components, it is advisable to apply Gloss Black Primer to enhance the special characteristics of the aluminum tones. This primer is available in 60 ml/2.02 fl oz (Ref. 73.660) and 200 ml/6.76 fl oz (Ref. 74.660) bottles with a hinged cap and dropper. Metal Color dries very quickly, but it is recommended to wait 12 hours after application before proceeding with masking. Gloss Metal Varnish is also available in 60 ml/2.02 fl oz (Ref. 26.657) bottles with a hinged cap and dropper. For proper airbrush maintenance, we recommend using Vallejo Airbrush Cleaner.
