Armored recovery vehicle (ARV) variant of the M113 armored personnel carrier, designed for field repair and recovery operations. Continues to serve in many countries today.

It's equipped with a hydraulic crane mounted on the left side of the hull roof, along with a counterweight on the opposite side. The crane lifts heavy equipment and componets such as engines and transmissions. The M113 Fitter carries tools, spare parts, and technicians. It is frequently equipped with a machine gun for self defense, either the L3A4, M60 or the .50 caliber M2HB. The M113's armor provides protection for the crew.
