Adult collectible, NOT a toy
|
Plastic construction . approx 2" long / includes display case A white entry car during the car race on June 19, 1931, on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring. The driver Rudolf Caracciola won with the black starting number 8.
Due to the global economic crisis, the German Grand Prix, which was originally listed in the international racing calendar as the Grande Épreuve, had been cancelled.
Therefore, it was not designated as a race in the 1931 European Grand Prix Championship, and the prescribed minimum duration of 10 hours did not have to be observed. Because of this, the organizer, the Automobile Club of Germany (AvD), established its own set of rules.
The race was divided into two groups: Group 1 = vehicles over 1100 cc / 22 laps of 22.809 km each (total distance of 508.77 km) and Group 2 = vehicles from 500 to 1100 cc / 18 laps of 22.809 km each (distance of 410.58 km). This race was also one of the last Grand Prix events in which a co-driver was permitted to act as a mechanic. The white SSK with its exquisite spoked wheels and chrome trim is a very special collector's item. Ready to put on your HO scale layout, diorama or to just collect. We are not responsible for any taxes, duty, VAT, customs or other fees on the receiver’s end. Check out our other items and save on shipping! |
Sorry, no shipping refunds can be given for combining separate orders.
