The Saint-Chamon heavy tank was the second tank developed by France in the First World War and produced a total of 400 vehicles from April 1917 to July 1918. Due to commercial competition with Schneider tanks, the Saint-Chamon design has serious flaws. The main drawback is that the Caterpillar track is too short compared to the longer body and heavier weight. Since then, it has also tried to improve the walking device and The thicker frontal armor finally replaced the Mle 1897 75mm field gun. Due to the use of a large number of tanks, the stalemate in trench warfare has basically changed since 1918, and the pattern of war has been changed.
