The Ju 87 "Stuka" dive bomber is perhaps one of the most famous dive bombers of World War II. It served as the air-ground support force of the Luftwaffe from the beginning of the Blitzkrieg. The Ju 87D is the most important series in the Stuka family, and the Ju 87D-3 can be regarded as the strongest one. Its specially reinforced armor allows the aircraft to retreat from the hail of bullets from anti-aircraft artillery. A total of about 1,559 Ju 87D-3s were produced during World War II.
