Imperial Japanese Army Field Cooking Set Type 97 Boiling Water Tank
As the saying goes, "You can't fight a battle if you're hungry," and one of the most important things on the battlefield is food.
In the Japanese Army, rice cookers were often used for cooking, but field cooking equipment and cooking utensils for large numbers of people were also used, capable of cooking approximately 300 meals per hour.
This kit includes a kamado, a kama, and a ladle (shakushi = rice ladle).
The set also includes a Type 97 boiling water truck, which was a mobile water heater.
It is said that hot food and drink on the battlefield relieves mental fatigue, and the boiling water wagon was also used for sterilizing boiled water and preventing water from freezing in cold climates.
The set also includes three figures with rich expressions: a soldier holding a ladle and cooking in a kamado, a soldier cutting takuan with a kitchen knife, and a soldier pouring hot water into a bucket from a boiling waterwheel.
A wooden box of rations designed according to the 1937 establishment by the army is also included.
