FineMolds 1/72 Japanese F-15DJ ASDF Aggressor [Unit 095] FK01
FineMolds 1/72 Japanese F-15DJ ASDF Aggressor [Unit 095] FK01

Plastic model kit, assembly required. Glue, paint and finishing supplies not included.

In 1981, the Japan Air Self-Defense Force established a "Flight Instruction Corps" to play a similar role, based on the U.S. Air Force and Navy's tactical training unit, which imitates hypothetical enemy aircraft. This helps improve the skills of fighter pilots. In 2016, the unit was moved to Komatsu Air Base and renamed the "Flight Instruction Group," where it patrols and provides training to each JASDF fighter unit and warning and control unit. Since 1990, the F-15 has been the main aircraft used; the camouflage paint differs depending on the aircraft in order to clearly identify friend or foe in simulated air battles, and it is popular among fans as an aggressor aircraft. This model kit from Fine Molds builds into a two-seater DJ type. The camouflage from November 2023 is a brown color scheme that is based on the F-14A belonging to the Iranian Air Force and the U.S. Navy Aggressor Unit. It is easy to identify due to its color scheme, color depth, and contrast, which is different from those of other aircraft in the unit.
