This large helicopter intended for the role of naval mine dredging is in force in some selected departments of the American and Japanese navies. The Sea Dragon is an enhanced three-engine version of the twin-engine CH-53 born in the sixties and widely used by the Marines and in special versions by rescue from the United States Air Force. Thanks to the great power supplied by the engines, this aircraft is equipped with a large loading and lifting capacity that allows it to tow heavy anti-mine systems mounted on a special hydrofoil lowered into the sea by the helicopter itself.
