The Kagero-class destroyers were the largest destroyers of their time, built without the restrictions of disarmament requirements. The eighth ship in this class, the Yukikaze, was commissioned in January 1940. She survived many naval battles such as Mariana and the Battle of Leyte Gulf, and was known as a lucky ship.

This model kit from Pit-Road can be built as either an offshore or full-hull version; she can also be built either as she was seen at the outbreak of war in 1941, or in 1945, when her anti-aircraft weapons were increased.
