The Fubuki was a special destroyer with the maximum armament on a compact hull to supplement the force of the main ship reduced by the Washington Naval Treaty of 1921. She went into service and 1928 and participated in several operations after the war, but was sunk by the U.S. Navy during the Battle of Cape Esperance in October 1942.
