The Ashizuri-class was completed in January 1943 as an oiler for carrier task forces, capable of supplying fuel for two large aircraft carriers as well as equipment, ammunition, and rations, but was destroyed in June 1944 by a US Navy submarine attack without being assigned to the original task force support mission. The model is 1/700 scale plastic model.
