An accurate, true-to-scale reproduction of the actual aircraft, the model is great for collectors and features authentic, highly detailed graphics and markings. Having entered service in 2011 as a more fuel-efficient, environmentally friendly replacement aircraft for the aging Boeing 767-200ER, the innovative, twin-engine, wide-body Boeing 787-8, which was Boeing's introductory model in the 787 series, was deemed to be an ideal size to accommodate approximately 250 passengers, as market demand for the Boeing 747 and 767 had begun to slow down.
