This kit from VeryFire is a completely new mold! The U.S. Navy battleship Missouri is the third Iowa-class battleship, and is named after the 24th state of the United States; she is the fourth ship to bear the name. Launched in 1944, the Missouri was the 63rd battleship built by the U.S. Navy; she participated in the Battle of Okinawa during World War II, and on September 2, 1945, the Japanese Instrument of Surrender was signed on her deck. She retired in 1955 after the Korean War; in 1986, she added state-of-the-art weapons and electronic devices such as the BGM-109 Tomahawk, Harpoon, and Phalanx CIWS and was put back into service. She took part in the Gulf War in 1991, and in 1992 was retired again; she has been preserved as a memorial ship in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii since 1999.
